Abstract
With the current emphasis on incorporating experiential learning in introductory college biology courses (AAAS 2010), I proposed to teach an introductory level biology course at the UNL Cedar Point Biological Station (CPBS). I began teaching the course in the summer of 2011. The demand for enrollment in the course became so great that I have taught two separate sessions in 2014 and 2015. Bios 121/121L (Fundamentals of Biology II) is a 4 credit course which enrolls a diverse group of students including majors in Biological Science, Environmental Science, Animal Science, Nutrition, and a variety of pre-health majors. The course focuses on whole organism biology with emphasis on evolution, biodiversity, and ecology.
